A month in China

While in Shanghai, an opportunity came up to do some customer training for one of our Australian customers.  I love Australia and was looking for some experience as a trainer so  again,  I jumped at the chance to travel down.  I foolishly had it my head that I was already pretty close, and that I could be there and back in no time.

Unfortunately for GE, I was staying in Canberra the very same week of the 2007 General Election when Rudd swept to power, so hotels in the capital were full to the rafters with journalists. Safe to say, the room was pretty expensive.

While I had got used the food in China and actually started enjoying it, it was great to get some proper western food while I was in Oz. I had a massive burger within hours of touching down.

Shanghai was an amazing place: a strange mix massive wealth and extreme poverty.
